For Him and Them by Dean Cowles

September 2006

School's back in session. And if you have kids like we do, you've been scrambling to get all their supplies listed, bought, assembled and hopefully not lost in the first week. Our ministry partners face the same schedule as they gear up to serve thousands of children and youth with after school tutoring programs.

We're looking forward to a great start to a great year. Continue to pray for us and those we serve...

We've been shipping urban Bibles to our new partners which will go in student back packs. We just received 625 brand new T-Shirts to add to these "back to school" blessings. Another company donated 100 leather bags this week. I'll be speaking at one of our partner's annual fall banquets this month to try and help them raise over $20,000 which will cover the expenses for their after-school programs. We'll also be holding one of our Executive Director Leadership Training sessions in Huntsville, Texas.

In addition to all of this we kick off the Combined Federal Campaign in which federal government employees across the nation can donate directly to YouthPartnersNET through workplace giving. If you or someone you know works for the government, just write in our YPN number 2098 to help serve and equip children in America's high-risk communities.

So, you can see September is a busy month for YouthPartnersNET and all of our partners. We're looking forward to a great start to a great year. Continue to pray for us and those we serve as we reach into the neglected quarters of the city and Native American reservations.

Well I've got to run. We forgot to buy graph paper for math class.

For Him and Them,

Dean Cowles
