Time to Bloom

I love May, don't you? It's a time for spring to blossom all over God's green earth. It's also a time for many blessings. Your May gift is a great blessing as together we watch God grow and bloom in those we serve.

This month your gift helped in several key ways. First of all, we were able to provide scholarships for inner city youth to attend one of the best youth evangelism conferences in America: Dare2Share. In cities across the US, stadiums and arenas are filled with tens of thousands of teens who are on fire to share their faith and compassion. This two-day conference is packed with great speakers, artists, time to pray and most importantly a whole afternoon to go into their community to "practice what they've been preached".

Secondly, I was privileged to be asked to speak at the annual banquet of one of our New Jersey Ministry Partners. The youth produced and performed in a musical play they wrote themselves. It was awesome. This ministry called New City Kids also asked its donors to match up to $25,000 raised from 10 individuals. YPN wanted to be part of this exciting night so we also put out a matching grant challenge to the audience. When pledges and offerings were added up, they exceeded their goal as more than $37,000 was raised, Praise the Lord! We were also able to train 12 Executive Directors while in NJ.

Finally, I'm looking forward to attending the Urban Youth Workers Institute annual conference in LA as a presenter later in May.

As I flew back over the green grasses of the heartland, my heart was overflowing to know that together we are making a significant difference in the lives of so many. I pray that your May and summer months will be as blessed with spring blossoms as the ones we've experienced above.
