YouthPartnersNET works with the White House
Washington DC September 29, 2006 - Urban Ministry Leader YouthPartnersNET and their network of ministry partners were invited to speak directly with Jay Hein, the newly appointed Director of the White House Office for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives on a private conference call.
The call was arranged by YPN President Dean Cowles and Hein, who recently met at the White House Conference in Denver. These conferences are geared towards faith-based and community organizations that have no history of applying for government grants, as well as those that have applied, but have not yet been successful.
Hein expressed a desire to host this conference call to learn more about YPN, their network of ministry partners, and how the White House can better serve front-line ministries. The call on October 19, 2006 will discuss faith-based funding, partnering with intermediaries for mini-grants, and how accepting government funds interfaces with religious programs. Questions from the network will be addressed during the call.
YouthPartnersNET conducts local networking meetings in both Chicago, Illinois and Denver, Colorado.
