YPN's Networking Strategies help local and national ministry networks and resource partners enhance cooperation and build relationships for support and self-sustainability. 130+ partners in our network provide services for children and youth in urban, rural and Native American communities.
YPN Denver
Each month between 20-30 front line workers gather together for networking and resources at YPN's sponsored lunch in Denver for a total of more than 150 individuals from various local ministries. We bring in special speakers and funding resources to encourage our partners and expand their networks as well as advertise their youth events, fundraising events, prayer requests and volunteer opportunities.
Following is a list of some of the benefits that resulted from the meetings this past year:
- Faith-based government Latino grant resulted in over $300,000 to our Denver partners. This was the first of a three-year grant and most have already been approved for their second year grant, ranging from $60,000-$90,000 each.
- Due to our relationship with a new Denver foundation, free monthly workshops are provided to our ministry partners to train their staff in fundraising. Another level to their program is to provide free one-on-one consultation for fundraising events followed by matching grants.
- Boy Scouts of America provided free weeks of camping at a nearby facility and customized inner-city day camps and year-round programs for over 400 kids.
- Campus Crusade's Annual Conference in Denver incorporated a Day of Faith again this year where over 2000 students hit the streets to serve in the city. Many of our ministry partners signed up to provide "hands-on experience" for these students to serve inner-city kids.
- Noah's Ark provided free white water rafting excursions for our ministry partner's youth leaders. They also offered discounts on summer adventure camps for inner-city kids including rafting, rock climbing, backpacking.
- LensCrafters provided free exams and eye glasses to inner-city kids.
- Dare2Share provided full scholarships for inner-city youth to attend their national evangelism conference in Denver. Nearly 10,000 registered as their corporate mission was to make attendance possible for every child interested in learning about Christ.
- Pure by Choice offered discounts for inner-city youth and their parents to attend their national abstinence conference in Denver.
- Denver Area Youth For Christ hosted four front-range college fairs providing inner-city students and their parents with the opportunity to meet representatives from 70 Christian colleges.
- The Department of Labor attends every month and offers training and summer job placement for the teens and job listings for their parents
- The Denver Seminary hosted their Annual Ministry Fair in September providing our local ministry partners with a great opportunity to expose their ministry to hundreds of students seeking summer intern positions.
- Straight Street Design offers free website consultation to our Denver ministry partner network.
